The Local Journalism Initiative (LJI) is thrilled to announce that Angela Reives will serve as marketing manager, supporting the new collaborative nonprofit newsroom, Spotlight Delaware.

In the new role, Reives will drive strategic marketing initiatives that will enhance the general reputation of LJI and the Spotlight Delaware brand, donor communications, and audience development. She will also support membership initiatives, community engagement efforts and events management.

Reives is a West Point, Miss. native and brings more than five years of experience in creating and executing strategic marketing initiatives. Most recently, she served as marketing and development manager at The Daily Memphian, where she was responsible for driving subscriptions, donations and email sign-ups. Reives also played a key role in engaging readers through email marketing and newsletter strategy. Prior to her role at The Daily Memphian, she worked as an account executive at a Memphis-based marketing and PR firm.

“I am excited to immerse myself into Delaware’s culture and build meaningful relationships with its communities,” Reives said. “I am eager to leverage my newsroom and marketing experience to create programs that meet the diverse needs of Delawareans.”

“Angela has amazing experience in marketing brands across social media and other platforms,” said Allison Taylor Levine, LJI Founder and CEO. “She has proven that she can connect and build relationships with a local newsroom and its community. Angela will help LJI and Spotlight Delaware connect with and engage both the communities that need access to local Delaware news and information and the stakeholders that will continue to support these efforts.”
